On this episode of Career Journeys we welcome Cat Gorman ’15 by phone from New York City. When this episode was recorded, Cat was a Private Equity Associate at Quad Partners in New York City. She recently joined BlackRock’s Long Term Private Capital fund in September; it is BlackRock’s first direct investing private equity fund. After graduating with a degree in economics from the Colleges, she worked as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Diversified Industries group at J.P. Morgan and was the first sophomore to be accepted as a JP Morgan intern. In addition, Cat volunteers as the Vice President of Communications for Synergist Network, which connects women in investing careers. Cat has remained involved with the Colleges since graduation and currently serves as a co-chair for William Smith at Work, an alumnae group launched to promote connections between William Smith alumnae in a wide variety of fields.
Career Journeys is a limited-run podcast from the Herald and the Salisbury Center for Career, Professional and Experiential Education designed to help introduce parents, students, alums, and prospective students to the wealth of opportunities and pathways that Hobart and William Smith alumni and alumnae have taken following their graduation. The show is produced and hosted by Alex Kerai ’19 in conjunction with the Herald and the Salisbury Center. It is recorded in the WEOS (NPR) studio on campus and includes live in-studio and over the phone interviews.
We are very excited to have Cat on this episode of Career Journeys!
